Our simple wall based Kinect app aims to bring learned practices from the physical world
to the digital one, enabling seniors to quickly and easily remain up to date and in touch
with their friends and relatives.
Before focusing on World Wall, we explored a myriad of user needs and environments to help improve with gesture based interactions.
Now focusing on nursing homes, we begun to explore the many ways of making technology simpler for the eldery. As part of our next steps, we set out to explore the different ways of presenting instructions and navigating our app.
With the lessons from our testing in hand, we completed an initial prorotype to present relevant updates and photos from a user's family and friends. Not needing to follow the standard stream model, we elected to focus on using the idea of a digital photo album and telephone to make interactions intuitive for our users.
Before focusing on World Wall, we explored a myriad of user needs and environments to help improve with gesture based interactions.
We used the many lessons from our user testing to build out a functional prototype that addresses both the needs of our elderly users while being mindful of their environmental and physical limitations.
After a busy quarter, we were happy to show off our final product!
