For this prototype, users give feedback using a monitor which shows images of different dishes. Images of various dishes are shown

on the monitor in the middle, and on the left and right are a "good pile" and "bad pile". The user will see a bunch of food images in

the center and he can proceed to sort them into the good and bad piles. To place an image in one of the piles, the user points to the

image with his hand. A hand image on the monitor follows the position of the user's hand and when it lines up with the food image, it

"grabs" the image. To move it, the user simply moves his hand either left or right.

Motivations:

- This design works well in dining hall and buffet settings where users have multiple food options to choose from and the choices for every user are fixed for a given day.

- User has a display of multiple images of food simultaneously, thereby having a better visualization of every dish he liked and disliked for that day.

- Since the monitor is located in the line where people return their trays/dishes, user does not have to go out of his way to rate dishes. He can do it to pass the time spent waiting in line.
